Book
Notes Doctor Who "The New Adventures" series. Cover illustration by Fred Gambino. Printed by Cox & Wyman, Reading, Berkshire. The one and only New Adventures series book to feature the eighth Doctor in the incumbent role, and the final one to feature the Doctor. Virgin Publishing lost their "Doctor Who Books" franchise when the BBC took the control of book publishing in-house to capitalise on the release of the movie. However the Virgin Books "New Adventures" series continued starring Bernice Summerfield in the main role (obviously without any mention of Doctor Who). Bernice was a companion created by Virgin/Doctor Who Books specifically for the New Adventures book series, and being a character created without any BBC input, was not subject to BBC copyright.
