ppint. 18th Feb 2018		originally published as "la planète enchantée" (1973) setni series #3 (#1, & #4-9 not as yet translated into english): #2: "games psyborgs play" (1973), q.v. (french original "à quoi songent les psyborgs?" (1971), q.v.) two near-identical printings/editions sharing merkin-printed covers and hence also cat# UY1181, and cover art by michael whelan (credited, art signed with his stylised monogram) b+w interior illustration also by michael whelan (signed likewise) near-meaningless daw books collectors number 156 cover price $1.25 160pp. including titles, indica etc. refer to indica to see if the carcass of the copy held was merkin- or canadadian-printed. no priority established nor liable to be, both bear first printing month & year, full number-string, 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9



ppint. 5th Dec 2017		cat# is wrong. it should be corrected to UY1181, or just deleted. the "156" is the near-meaningless daw books/collectors no., nothing to do with the catalogue number by which the book is (or was) orderable. not all daw books were allotted a collectors no. - and some that were later dropped it from subsequent printings/editions, or changed it to another number. no-one know seems to know why - and don wollheim regarded the actual numbers as intrinsically pointless, when i enquired about them: they exist because collectors buy more if there's a collectors number.
