1st UK edition, following the first edition published in hardcover in the US. Branded as a tie-in with the TV series Return of the Saint, with the two novellas adaptations of episodes from that series: "The Imprudent Professor" based on the teleplay by Terence Feeley, and "The Red Sabbath" based upon the teleplay "One Black September" by John Kruse.

Both novellas are written by Graham Weaver, who is credited only on the table of contents, with Charteris, who acted in an editorial capacity, credited as author on the cover, spine and title page. Cover depicts Ian Ogilvy as Simon Templar.
