 dray prescot sword'n'sf series by ken bulmer writing as "alan burt akers" #12:

#1: "transit to scorpio" (1972), q.v. for series listing and links.

near-identical editions/printings sharing merkin-printed covers and hence also cat#,

cover art and five interior b+w illustrations by michael whelan (credited, all but one signed)
near-meaningless daw books number 204
cover price $1.25
208pp. including titles, indicia etc, end pp. advertising

refer to indicia to see if carcass of copy held was canadadian- or merkin-printed.
no priority established nor liable to be, both bear full first printing number-string 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9

the 4/1985 near-identical third printing sees cover price rise to $2.75, acquires an isbn 0886770343, cat# UE2034, and indica publication number-string drops the initial "1 2 ", so daw books/new american library retrospectively accounted the canadadian first printing as the second ("publishers!").
yr hmbl srppnt.'s not (yet) aware whether the 3rd printing retains or drops the collectors number.


a brief fictional note on the krozair cycle by ken writing as by alan burt akers precedes the novel.
