Entries combined and now "International". Release dates may vary slightly from country to country so left as "2006" (the European entry had March 2006).
For some reason, I didn't think to check Platterlog before, but for what it's worth, this was listed as a new release in the February 27, 2006 release sheet, along with the CD reissues of all seven Creedence studio albums and "The Concert". Platterlog has abbreviated the catalogue number to 1845022 though (in fact, all the Universal releases that week, which all seem to come from Concord's labels, show seven-digit numbers). Anyway, this is a case that should definitely be International, as it is the same physical item distributed in more than one continent; rights societies like SABAM don't necessarily indicate the only region of distribution (even in vinyl days, many 45's made and sold in the UK had NCB on them).
The European entry perhaps should be combined with this entry and changed to "International" as both have the same cat # and barcode along with a 2006 release date.
Hi T-V-J, this same release (as made by EDC, with the same cat number and barcode) appears in Discogs as a UK and Europe release, with a release date of 2006, which is probably right, so definitely International and not just Europe. I must admit that I've never come across different barcodes on a Universal (or PolyGram before them) release in different countries, unless the catalogue number is different as well (due to the release having different tracks, package, whatever) but I'll take your word for it. I agree that dating these things is always a headache, due to the (P) and (C) dates not necessarily relating to when a particular version was issued - in this case I think the 1991 date would come from when Fantasy in the USA first issued this CD - and not everyone is as anal retentive about corporate histories as I am! (For the record, as it were, PolyGram was merged into Universal in late 1998/early 1999, so that is when Universal Music Group company names started showing up everywhere, and with Concord picking up Fantasy in 2005 and taking their distribution to Universal, any Concord, Fantasy, Stax, Prestige, Milestone, Riverside, Specialty etc release distributed by Universal would be 2005 or later, regardless of whatever date appears on any old artwork that Universal picked up).
This CD is cataloged in the Australian "Universal Catalog" and available to all retailers in Australia.
Should there be persistence that this not be listed as Australian then it can not be Europe since Australia is NOT part of Europe. It would have to be "International".
At this point of time there are not enough entries from other countries to confirm a particular "Country" for this entry.
Hi PhilMH, dating CD's is difficult for a lot of the original vinyl re-issues on CD. As for "International", once again difficult as the barcodes do vary for different countries even though the manufacture is stated as "Made in the EU". This disc is "Made in Germany by EDC".
Hi T-V-J, this issue is from 2005 or later, which is when Fantasy was taken over by Concord, whose distribution is via Universal. Fantasy was still with Festival in Australia before that, and this looks like it should be "International", as it is a European pressing also distributed in Australia (as is frequently Universal's wont with back catalogue).
