Magic Marmalade 26th Nov 2015		Just did a taste test between this and the Original Vinyl Issue (second press - green labels), and this CD is pretty much bang on. I'd say it's the proverbial flat transfer of how it originally sounded (minus the odd crackle here and there of course... and there is a very slight edge in terms of warmth from the vinyl itself, but no great difference). So if you're looking for a cheap CD alternative that sounds like the original, this would do it (Don't know about other issues by way of comparison).



plocky45 SUBS 8th Sep 2014		My copy seems to have an identical front insert with the US and Europe cat. nos. The rear cover is almost the same, but with an extra (French) label code. The disc differs in that it has 7599-27176-2 as the cat. no. instead of the 246 024 / 1768-2 cat. nos. So the variations begin...



fixbutte 5th Sep 2014		As I have already commented, my Manufactured In Germany copy doesn't date to later than 1987 because I bought it then as my first CD (making it one of the few CDs of which I remember the year of purchase). As supposed before, explicit US copies probably only came later than that. May 1987 is the CD release date according to Martin C. Strong's Great Rock Discography.



fixbutte 19th Mar 2014		Originally released in Nov 1968 in the USA (many months later in the UK and Europe), this is still a favorite album of many music lovers. Apparently it was not released on CD before 1987 though, this (West) German pressing possibly coming even before own US pressings as it also mentions the US cat# (first on the cover and spine, second on the disc). This was my first CD album, bought in summer of 1987, only a few months after its release (I had it on vinyl before, of course).
