Review27 tracks, all but one with sparkling big-band arrangements, and every one about that most vacuous of song topics, "Love", perfectly forgettable, even I Couldn't Care Less which had been crooned by Bing Crosby. The one exception is where she is accompanied by Don Abney on piano in a fine version of the unforgettable Angel Eyes.
It is only a shame that the last line is cut short: this seems to have happened with two Carmen McRae compilations and I'd love to know if it was missing on the original Kapp LP. Somewhere the end of the tape with the words "while I disappear" and probably a piano coda, has dropped on the cutting-room floor.
