I have already corrected it to 1983 (and adjusted my last comment). I'm nearly sure that it was released in that year by Ariola though not by Ariola [USA] but by Ariola in West Germany for the international market (and possibly with another barcode). I propose that we leave it as 1983 for now until we know better.
Hi jaimeeduardo,
you had misread the date of your own submission and wanted it to be corrected to 1982, as printed on the back of the cover. However, although this was apparently no. 2 of the best-selling albums of all-time in Mexico (7.5 million copies sold), I strongly doubt the 1982 release date for the CD, as there were no CDs outside of Japan in 1982. Anyway, considering the huge success of the album in Mexico, I'm nearly sure that it was available the following year, and have corrected it to 1983.
Still, if the CD was originally released in 1983, the disc was obviously notMade in U.S.A. then, as the first US CD plant did not open before Sep 1984, and was not green silkscreen but plain black-on-silver, as it was usual then.
