78rpm-maniac 25th May 2018		Interesting to see the different CD-Issues of CBS-Columbia-records. I can recall: I bought my first Bruce Springsteen-CD Tunnel of Love in Germany in 1987 at age 13. Shortly i fell in love with that Springsteen-Sound i have bought all other CD-Releases in around 1988, and the red-black CBS-CDs had all the CBS-Logo on it and not the Columbia-printing in that time. I´´m of the opinion that label-typography-design had changed in the early 1990s.



Magic Marmalade 25th Apr 2017		I think I might try it again Redpunk... I wasn't happy with the tone of the black text either at the time.... looks blue. --Second thoughts, I think I'll leave it, it conveys the point--



Redpunk SUBS 25th Apr 2017		One way to avoid it is to rotate the disc slightly and scan again such as this nc554060uk or you may have tried it and it did not help. The other way is to put the disc in a clear sleeve such as used to protect 45s and scan, this can reduce glare.



Magic Marmalade 25th Apr 2017		Tried adjusting, but the band just behind the text was dark when scanned, so didn't do much good... so I enlarged a segment, and altered that, so you should just about be able to read it.



Magic Marmalade 24th Apr 2017		Just looked at my disc scan again.. perimeter text not too clear really, is it? ...I'll see if I can bring it out a bit more later by adjusting the exposure. (great sounding disc!)



PhilMH SUBS 24th Apr 2017		IIRC, the earliest CBS CDs in UK/Europe/Australasia etc did have catalogue numbers prefixed CDCBS; they probably shortened the prefixes once LPs were phased out. And the label here should be CBS, not Columbia (which didn't come into use outside the USA & Canada until 1st January 1991).



gregs45s SUBS ● 23rd Apr 2017		Cat.No. is just CBS 460270 2 surely?,CDCBS460270 2 and 460270 2 may be around the centre of the Disc,but they are not apparent on artwork or Disc,so correction submitted,unless someone knows otherwise?.

frank itiis 2nd Jun 2015		Added Scans. Front Booklet does not show CD Logo as it appears on main image. CD made in Austria as stated on Disc Label..



GEMSMFAN 15th Jul 2014		not a U.S. CD. xxxxxx 2 (6-digit number followed by a space and 2) format is Europe. U.S. Columbia CD would have "CK" prefix followed by 5-digit number. Bar code would begin with "07464....." (especially anything from 1987)
