fixbutte 20th Mar 2014		This was my second CD, bought in 1987. Lizzy Mercier Descloux was a critics' darling then. As I was not very much interested in jazz then, it was the first time that I heard anything of Chet Baker, now much more familiar to me than Lizzy who apparently died on Apr 20, 2004 in Saint-Florent, Corsica, France, aged 47, as I learned just today. In contrast, Chet Baker's spectacular death was on all the news: he fell out of the window of his Amsterdam hotel on May 13, 1988, 3 a.m., with heroin and cocaine found in his hotel room and in his body.
