Interestingly, although the CD face (the only place where to find the writer credits) says "See booklet for further details", there are no further details in the booklet, only the song titles with images from the respective videos. Each song had a video of course, and this one accompanied the single release of the first album's title song, a driving instrumental (well, mostly):
Together with the Specials, Madness were the most prominent act of the British ska revival, and with their happy-go-lucky music but worthwhile lyrics they were one of my favorite British bands in the early 1980s. As I had three of their albums (the fantastic debut among them) but no singles on vinyl, this compilation disc was a must-have for me when it came out in 1992. It seems, however, that even the Greatest Hits album did not appeal to many people outside of England, as it made it straight to the top of the UK charts but did not score anywhere else (apart from #56 in Holland, according to Wikipedia).
