albert 26th Jul 2017		These double CDs for labels/genres (expired copyrights) are becoming increasingly harder to find and if you look on the official 'One Day Music/Not Now' website you will see that they are not in the current catalogue so are probably deleted. I admit that I was thrilled by these 2CD or 3CD of original recordings (some very rare) at bargain prices and presented in mostly great quality (which was unusual), but the copyright thing is troubling. The success of these compilations shows that there is a market and One Day showed how it should be done, ie quantity and quality (since there is a mountain of songs on back catalogue and many are completely forgotten). Whereas prior to this watershed we were continually being sold the same old stuff 'officially' (like a playlist on commercial radio). I know that the argument about artists not getting any royalties is often put forward, but countless times I have read that the original artists never earned a penny from their recordings even when they were first released. Anyway its for the lawyers to argue, not us buying public. THANK YOU to the contributors adding the track listings, that's a lot of typing!
