fixbutte 17th Mar 2014		At the moment, Aladdin Records is the most popular label over there at 45worlds 78 RPM. This is the only available compilation of the label, with emphasis on the later rock 'n' roll and doo-wop numbers. It's still good and indispensable for anybody interested in 1950s music, but the previous US 53-song collection The Aladdin Records Story (1994), beginning in 1946 with Illinois Jacquet, Helen Humes, Johnny Moore's Three Blazers, and Wynonie Harris is much more representative. Lester Young, who made many records for Aladdin in the 1940s, is missing on both compilations though. Anyway this has been the introduction to 45worlds CD Albums for R&B stars Louis Jordan, Charles Brown, and Amos Milburn, blues favorites Lightnin' Hopkins and Lowell Fulson, and jazz lady Billie Holiday.
