Yes, funnily enough, that other entry was made by.... Me!!! :)
...The reason is, that that other one is a slide-pack edition, whereas this is a a standard jewel case edition.
This has back tray inlay, a separate front cover booklet, as per normal, but mine is a card box like sleeve, where both front and back are part of the same piece of cardboard, constructed as a skinny box, into which, the cheap, skinny CD tray slides...these have thumb notches to the lower left, which you can push the tray out the other side from.
I don't fully understand why the need for two separate editions myself, except to hazard a guess at the economy of making a cheaper made one (the slide pack), and probably some tenuous environmental concessions for those who would prefer to kill the planet more slowly than others.
...Also, I have vague recollections about the fact that for marketing reasons, a lot of people didn't like the clear, hard plastic cases of standard jewel cases on their shelves for their CD editions, perhaps, being used to vinyl era packaging, and wanting smarter packaging for their shelves, so the Record companies tried a few variations as alternatives to jewel cases for these people, most prevalent being the Digipak, but the slide packs do turn up occasionally (I have a: Cream Of Eric Clapton CD that is slide pack, and a Squeeze: Greatest hits (Single disc edition) that also is like this. I think Slide Packs, along with the Compaq + cases, were short lived, and died a death after not very long, as Digipak seemed the way to go for this market.
There are 2 releases of this CD from Europe. Both are dated November 1994. The barcodes differ but the same cat# - GED 24546 - appears on both. I just can't understand why 2 would be released with all of the similarities and at the same time! Is there a logical reasons for this?
