 'I Used To Be An Animal' is the perfect title for this last gasp of an album. Hearing Burdon's vocals surrounded by New Wave instrumentation and stylings is just plain wrong. The first track relies on a riff reminiscent of J. Geils' 'Love Stinks'. On another he raps, obviously trying to capture a bit of whatever IT was that made 'Spill The Wine' something mysterious and psychedelic. One track has a bar or two of harmonica that actually sounds like it should. Nine tracks in total with absolutely nothing interesting happening. I inherited it unaware. You do not want this disc in your collection. Period.
