Although there is no mention in the tracklisting, this Double CD contains all the tracks from Dexter Wansel's four US Philadelphia International LPs as follows .....

CD I, Tracks 1-8 - "Life On Mars", issued 1976 on Philadelphia International PZ 34079 (#44 BB R&B)

CD 1, Tracks 9-13 - "Voyager", issued 1978 on Philadelphia International JZ 34985 (#37 BB R&B, #139 BB "Pop")

CD 2, Tracks 1-8 - "Time Is Slipping Away", issued 1979 on Philadelphia International JZ 36024 (#58 BB R&B)

CD 2, Tracks 9-17 - "What The World Is Coming To", issued 1977 on Philadelphia International PZ 34487 (#45 BB R&B, #168 BB "Pop")

Dexter was a keyboard player who ended up becoming better known as a songwriter/producer/arranger and his name appears in the credits of a number of Philadelphia International recordings from the late 1970s and early 1980s.

Generally his recordings were very much in an experimental Jazz/Funk style though nowadays his best known recordings are probably "The Sweetest Pain" (a Mellow/Jazzy Soul tune with vocals by Terri Wells) and "I'll Never Forget My Favourite Disco" (a rather over-blown ditty that seems to owe a lot to Sister Sledge's "He's The Greatest Dancer"). My favourites on here would have to include the Jazz/Funk tracks "Life On Mars" and "Solutions".
