 Had an opportunity here to directly compare this SHM-CD to the European RVG edition, and, to my ears and on my system (Arcam cd/Mission Cyrus amp/Mission speakers), the whole soundstage is larger, the clarity of the instruments is the same, but the instuments seem to be wider/better placed in the recording, more "depth".
Conclusion, an improvement, definitely, if only minor on an "average" set up, but still obviously apparent, would be more noticeable i expect on a more expensive system.
(a nice alternate take of Autumn Leaves as a bonus track on this one also)
