No one has an answer to what that number is, but it isn't an alternate catalog number. The people at CBS know or knew what it is but I somehow doubt the pros will come here with info and fill us in.

No one else includes the number you are, so maybe we all know something you don't. I already checked the page, in case you're wondering :-)

Make sure to also include LC0162 (or do you know what that is), OK. Do you see that number on the inlay insert spine, no... and you didn't read my whole comment... please check your disc and clearly look at the CD ring for the matrix. I'm tired of this.. add whatever makes you happy :-) You remind me of the submitters on the "Other Site" who would add the AL and BL numbers as catalog numbers for Columbia U.S. LP's, and those numbers were printed underneath the catalog numbers and were a printed matrix number on the label.
GEMSMFAN 5th Jul 2014		CD Album Paul Young - The Crossing (1993)	it's a variation (note only the middle number is the same), very often as the matrix (CD center ring)... on most European CBS / Epic and associated. it is printed in different places aside from the catalog number. It is on records and cassettes produced by CBS and it's labels in Europe. The two side numbers may represent the format, only guessing, don't know.

GEMSMFAN 3rd Jul 2014		CD Album Various Artists - Latin Mix USA 2 (1999)	this has a Columbia catalog number and bar code (CK is Columbia prefix) and 07464 is a Columbia bar code prefix. Wrong label submitted even though "Sony" logo is printed. This is the problem with the other music release database. The submitter enters the wrong info not knowing what the correct info is. Infact, in the other database they enter multiple labels (label happy) because several logos are printed not realizing that there really only is one, based on the corresponding catalog number. If you own a huge CD collection, you eventually figure out what is correct seeing what sequences go together and what don't.
