Neil Young - Landing On Water (1996)
Yes indeed, so it is. quite correct,
On looking through the CD's under "Geffen Goldline" (as a sub-label) they (although i haven't checked them all;) appear to be US releases, which, might make sense, i.e they use "Geffen Goldline / Geffen" in the US, and just "Geffen" over this side of the pond.
If you compare this Neil young European release to the US equivalent here then you notice that "Geffen Goldline" is both on the Disc and artwork, whereas it's not for this European release, so, it looks like it 's probably a US thing only, and not European, my apologies.
(NB There are of course no label codes on any of the US releases under "Geffen Goldline".)
(perhaps when we add any US Geffen releases, they should go under "Geffen Goldline / Geffen" maybe, if the "Geffen Goldline" logo is on the Disc/Artwork?)

Discogs has Geffen Goldline as a label, parent label Geffen.
It's perhaps more noticable here where the logo is on both Disc and rear tray artwork, and here whereas, quite a few of the other CD's listed under Geffen Goldline (label) only have a sticker to identify, like this CD.
So, perhaps it's a sub label?, and maybe these should be listed as "Geffen Goldline / Geffen" even if they may only have a sticker and no logo on Disc or artwork?

Tangerine Dream - Tyger (1987)
Added a couple of scans showing variations between the release with blue text on the Disc compared to the black text on Disc release. With regard to image 2177275, they printed the Cat.No. in white text (twice), once on the spine and once on the back, but, as you can see it's virtually invisible as it's on a white background, so (and in this particular case only) i've added a couple of arrows to indicate where they are (they are there, honest;), but, if you are not happy with this, give me a shout and i'll upload scan without arrows, no probs.
I would assume, by this evidence, that the black text on Disc version (with white on white Cat.No's) must have been the first release, and they changed it to blue text (on artwork and Disc) so it could be read therefore.
(all other artwork matches that shown, exactly)

Yes, indeed, good track.
Surprising how different they can sound, and i can see why at the time, bands who choose to try Psych may have risked losing some of their fans.
(although, and not being a Psych aficionado, i suspect there are differences also between these Pop bands who tried to be Psych, and the real Psych bands of the day perhaps)

To be honest, and until a neighbour kindly let me borrow this CD, i was not aware that The Tremeloes had a "Psych" side to them, which, apparently, alienated the majority of their fan base at the time, not bad at all though.

Hi, looking at the label page on Discogs for the Iconoclassic Records label here(I think the labels here should perhaps read Iconoclassic / Capitol, Discogs has some, not all, listed as such, i'll leave that up to the Mod's) it looks like 2012 might be right, judging by the Cat.No. sequence. It seems they started in 2008 with ICON 1001, and ICON 1023 seems to slot right in at 2012 , so, perhaps it's one of those pesky memory lapses which i seem to be getting more and more of as time goes on, or maybe your record outlet was way ahead of it's time :)

Hi, I'm sorry, i'm not aware of of that practice, and, that may well be the case on Vinyl Albums World, but as far as i know we have always added CD releases with different Cat. No's separately in my experience. There may only be one letter difference but it's a difference, and therefore, a separate release.
The difference between 1 letter/number and 10 is the same, is it not?, they are still both different from each other.
We can't just bung "similar" Cat. No's together on the one entry, this entry now indicates that both CD'S use two Cat.No's doesn't it? that's not how a database works surely?, and would soon lead to chaos. Where do we draw the line?, is one letter/number difference OK, or two maybe or three?.... CD's often have longer Cat.No's/specific spacings/extra digits/letters/hyphens which indicate different issues/different countries/special editions/club releases, and are all put there for a reason. As far as i can remember club edition CD's have always been entered separately, as they are not the stock/retail release, and that's surely how it should be. So, i'd have to disagree on this one, and stand by what i say, however, of course, if a Moderator were to say otherwise, then of course i'd go along with whatever decision is made., but personally, i feel they should still be separated IMHO.
More often than not, most club editions do not have a barcode as they were ordered mail order, therefore, i'd be curious to know if you are you also suggesting that they all be added to the stock retail releases as well?, if the Cat. No's numbers are "similar"?, because if so, i can foresee some problems there.
It seems that any previous attempts to group items together on databases ultimately led to inaccuracy/failure, so, surely best to separate them early days?, i don't think server space (buried deep in the mountainside;) is a limiting factor,so why try to group when there's no need? (a-la International;).
Sorry, but for me, a club release is significantly different than the one we buy in the shops.
anyhow, no malice intended, and i can see that i must seem like i'm continually banging on about Cat. No's/barcodes having to match exactly before other issues are added to a page, but, this is why...
(i shall bleat on no longer;).....for the powers that be....

The Club CRC V2-61611 version is a separate release, hereand so should have it's own separate entry, could a Mod please sort (i'll submit a correction.)(there is no one release that shares both of the Cat.No.'s 2-91611 / V2-91611)
(Even though the differences between CD Cat.No's may appear minor, they are always there for a reason, and any differences ,no matter how small, indicate a different version)

I've edited the first image to show just the front of the product, the image before included the spines of the outer card slipcase (which you don't see from the front), have re-uploaded that image as well (currently the 9th image), so both front with spine and back with spine are still present. @leonard
I'm sorry, but i'd have to question that line of reasoning. To simply say that if a CD has two or more European languages on the artwork, then it's European, is, surely rather simplistic in the least?. I have come across many occasions where the languages printed on artwork do not equate to the country of release. We are all probably familiar with the quad - languages used on "The Compact Disc Audio System" printed in many early '80's booklets i think, here is an example of a Dire straits Brothers In Arms CD from the US, which, despite having German/French/Italian/UK translations, actually went no where near Europe, this Cat.No.was printed and made in the US, and solely issued there to the best of my knowledge.
I personally would prefer to trust more reliable indicators, and think that rather than rushing in and assuming all these German CD's were also issued elsewhere in Europe. Why not leave them as they are and wait to see if other evidence/indicators emerge from members or from people who worked in CD distribution. and can point us in the right direction?.
Also, i do not consider that Discogs are/were wrong in entering these early German CD's as German, their members, after all, like our members, can only go by the evidence we see before us in hand. And so were right to enter them as they have, as indeed our members have/are entering them on this site IMHO.
I appreciate that you have worked "in the trade", with your shop in the Netherlands, but, can you honestly say you remember specific Cat.No's, and thereby confirm "European" status of any particular CD out of the thousands you must have both ordered and sold?. If you can, then that's great! (you have a better memory than i;). In which case it would be really useful to add that information to the notes (i.e, something like...Issued in Germany and the Netherlands), that way, it may encourage members who might have bought that CD whilst on holiday perhaps (at regular price, not import), and then could ask for that additional information be added to the notes (via a Mod), something like..."also on sale in France" (or whichever European country it was). That way, we could gradually build up a picture of where a CD might have been issued. again, there's no rush. I have suggested a similar idea in the past, perhaps using some kind of multi-flag thumbs to indicate countries of release rather than the catch-all that is becoming "Europe" (ala "International" Gulp!).
We could be guilty otherwise of throwing thousands of these early German releases with no other obvious indicators under the "European" banner, where, perhaps they may not actually belong.
I understand where you are coming from, but feel we should avoid generalisation wherever possible, if we want to strive for accuracy.
(perhaps we can just agree to disagree on this one?;)

Chicago - Chicago 18 (1986)
The problem with early to mid/late eighties CD'S that were made in Germany, is that there is very often, no indicator that they were issued in other European countries other than Germany. They didn't start putting the retail price codes on the artwork until '88/'89 or '90 i think. and as such, we have no proof of what other European countries any particular CD was also issued in for these earlier releases.
Here for instance, we can only be absolutely sure that this CD was issued in Germany (GEMA, German rights society)(BIEM, worldwide rights society)(no STEMRA Netherlands rights society) and, because of lack of retail price codes, can not honestly say for certain that it was issued in any other particular European country.
I conceed the fact that in all likelihood, this/and many, if not most would have also been distributed in quite a few other European countries as well. but, and here's the important bit, we can not prove that. so, essentially, it's just a GUESS to say it was issued here or there, albeit an educated one, that's still ( and with all due respect) a GUESS, (unless of course a member can say they purchased that particular CD themselves from a European country other than Germany itself (non import)
If we want this database to be an accurate one, then surely it's best to not ruin it by guessing?.
far better i would think, to leave these early '80's CD's under Germany, until perhaps, one day, someone will become a member of the site who actually worked in CD distribution, and can point the way, regarding these releases, and, perhaps, what indicators to look for.
I, for one at least, will continue to enter these CD's under Germany if there are no indicators otherwise.
The other solution, of course, is to change them all from Germany to Europe, but then, that again would be an assumption/GUESS, what about those that were solely issued in Germany?? (best left as is IMHO;).
