kimbozw 12th Aug 2020		CD Album Art Garfunkel - Up 'Til Now (1993)	Track 11 a goodie. Was included on the film soundtrack A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN featuring Madonna. The version by FATS WALLER was a USA No 1 in December 1938.
kimbozw 10th Jul 2020		CD Album Björk - Debut (1993)	She's one of the many Polar Music Prize winners. May have shared the prize back in the day with Ennio Morricone [who left us in the last day or so] if my memory serves me correctly.

kimbozw 24th Mar 2020		CD Album Orchestra Baobab - Pirates Choice (1989)	Video unavailable on my side. Jammer! (=Pity!). The sleeve reminds me of the Northern ("Limpopo") Province of South Africa. When one drives along the road from the town of Musina towards the town of Makhado (also known as Louis Trichardt) heading in a southerly direction one sees many baobab trees along the way.
kimbozw 9th Mar 2020		CD Album Elvis Costello With Burt Bacharach - Painted From Memory (1998)	The first version of PAINTED FROM MEMORY that I heard was by a Dutch singer called Trijntje Oosterhuis. I may have mis-spelled her first name. She did a whole album of Bacharach tunes. Or two. You might like her version of the song better in any event.

kimbozw 12th Dec 2018		CD Album Dana - All Kinds Of Everything (1990)	Contrary to what is claimed in the sleeve notes, Dana's Eurovision winner only peaked at #7 in South Africa [as well as attaining a #11 high in neighbouring Rhodesia]. Despite being a non charter in the U.S.A., the song did rise to #94 up north in Canada.

I hadn't checked Billboard for any missing charts.
kimbozw 21st Mar 2017		CD Album Petula Clark - The Most Of Petula Clark (1994)	Makes sense, as MELODY MAN was a hit single in Australia reaching #28 on the National chart. Bettered in South Africa by a #16 peak. In New Zealand it bubbled under the chart. Seemingly not a hit single elsewhere.

kimbozw 29th Mar 2016		CD Album ABBA - Greatest Hits Live (1994)	Manufactured in Japan but not necessarily containing live recordings performed in Japan. Slipping Through My Fingers would be from ABBA's TV special on the Dick Cavett Show which took place in 1981. Probably ditto for tracks 05, 09 and 11.
