LaurenceD SUBS 23rd Feb 2021		CD Album Cream - Disraeli Gears (1986)	I see that we have the standard cat# here (823 636-2), along with scans from a BMG Direct issue. In addition there is separate item here with the BMG cat# (D104898). I think that we have usually been combining the regular issue with the BMG variant in such cases IINM. If there are no objections I will merge the two items and add a couple of scans (inlay, disc) from the regular issue.
LaurenceD SUBS 23rd Feb 2021		CD Album Cream - Fresh Cream	Added scans for a somewhat different insert for the same USA issue. Possibly a later printing, because I see that they corrected the composer credits for "Sweet Wine". I think that this item is from 1986, but am unable to verify as yet.

LaurenceD SUBS 22nd Dec 2020		CD Album The Byrds - Never Again (1989)	Those composer credits should be taken with a grain of salt... Tracks 12 & 16 are rather questionable - both sound like a female vocalist backed by a band that sounds kind of like The Byrds, but I doubt that it's really them. The main problem is the 12-string, which does not sound like a Rickenbacker, has no compression, and is being strummed rather than picked. I think that these two tracks were also included on that Byrds On The Wyng bootleg LP.

So if we want to make this international and merge the two, we could just keep my inlay and disc scans and discard the rest.

LaurenceD SUBS 16th Oct 2020		CD Album Jack Bruce - BBC Live In Concert (1995)	The insert (see image 828648) states that this concert was recorded August 19 1977. That is obviously wrong; the correct date is August 19 1971, not long after the release of Harmony Row.
LaurenceD SUBS 12th Oct 2020		CD Album Benny Goodman - Live At Carnegie Hall (1987)	This is a straight reissue of the 1950 double LP. Subsequent discovery of the metal masters resulted in CD releases with improved sound quality and additional tracks; these later issues are highly recommended.
LaurenceD SUBS 8th Oct 2020		CD Album Randy Newman - The Randy Newman Songbook Vol. 2 (2011)	I picked this up second-hand; there is one of those little "ifpi/legítimo" stickers on the folder front. I've heard some complaints about sound quality with these Argentinian releases, but this one seems fine.

LaurenceD SUBS 3rd Oct 2020		CD Album Arthur Brown - Kingdom Come (1993)	This release does not list the 3 extra tracks, but a later release on Castle lists them as: 09 Traffic Light Song (Alternative Version) 10 The Hymn (Alternative Version) 11 A Scientific Experiment Featuring Lower Colonic Irrigation (Alternative Version) Also, this CD has changed the track order as compared with the original LP, i.e. it has side 2 followed by side 1. The story line of the LP was already confusing enough...

There may be other differences, but cannot be sure, as Collsrt has provided only one scan. Note that the insert lists the two additional 'Rick Grech' tracks, but these are not on the disc.

LaurenceD SUBS 30th Aug 2020		CD Album Various Artists - Assault The Vaults: Rare Australian Cover Versions Of The Brothers Gibb (1998)	I am not aware of any Bee Gees recordings of these songs; perhaps a few demos exist, someone with more expertise would know. As you listen to these recordings, you definitely can hear various Gibb brothers providing backing vocals on many of them.

LaurenceD SUBS 4th Aug 2020		CD Album Jeff Beck Group - Rough And Ready (1985)	The mixes for this CD as well as for the equivalent 'Orange' album CD are quite different from the original LPs. For one thing, Jeff's guitar sounds much more up front. This forum post gives a pretty good description. I don't possess the Iconoclassic releases, but I'm told that they are more faithful to the sound of the original releases.

LaurenceD SUBS 7th Jul 2020		CD Album Mike Nichols And Elaine May - Mike Nichols And Elaine May Examine Doctors	On the original LP, track 3 of 12 was "The Von Brauns At Home", which is omitted from this release. Reason is that when Wernher von Braun heard that track, he threatened to sue. It was then agreed to exclude it from all subsequent releases.
