ppint. 19th May 2017		CD Album Various Artists - Rock ‘n’ Roll Classics (1998)	still sealed, so whether composers are given on printed inserts not known, likewise whether and how the separate cds are cat#ed.
ppint. 18th May 2017		CD Album Roy Harper - Sophisticated Beggar (1994)	does this cd truly miss off "hup hup spiral", one of the key tracks of the original lp?
ppint. 17th May 2017		CD Album Edith Piaf - Ma Vie (1994)	(composers to come, when yr hmbl srppnt.'s a hope of focussing upon aught printed so small.) (& done. in the - very clear, bright - light of morning in booth's café, carnforth, it's evident the type size isn't so small, it's just there's insufficient contrast between the unemboldened printed composer information and the dense blue of the background, mimicking on the front lid, the design of the packet of the "gitanes" beloved of edith piaf.) i'm not at all convinced the releases on this label shouldn't be flagged europe, rather than italy.

ppint. 15th May 2017		CD Album Syd Barrett - The Best Of Syd Barrett (2001)	as to the title, there is no colon, semicolon nor comma in the title - see the scans of the disc and the front of the insert booklet, and the spines and the face of the rear insert/inlay. - 45cat/worlds seems to be edging towards using a splodge - "•" - in such circumstances, but oft times now, and in the past, has employed the hyphen: yr hmbl srppnt.'s agnostic to which of the twain is to be preferred. - arguably, the title ought by rights to proceed to a third, splodge- or hyphen-delineated line: "includes 'bob dylan blues'": but i thought that would constitute over-egging the pudding.
ppint. 15th May 2017		CD Album Syd Barrett - The Best Of Syd Barrett (2001)	"made in $foo" & "printed in $foo" do not define where a release is flagged, on 45cat/worlds: it's the intended market/territories that do that. a good indicator is the rights collection agency or agencies printed - normally - on the rear insert/inlay or rear of digipak, etc, and usually on the obverse of the disc. there is a guide to these available "on another website". there is a french indication near the barcode on the rear inlay, but no suggestion that i saw on my copy that this release was intended for distribution throughout the eu - let alone, beyond it - and without any indication it was intended to be distributed in merkia, let alone down under in xxxxia, the godzone, or in kiwiiiia, there was no good reason to flag it eu, nor international.

ppint. 22nd Apr 2017		CD Album Various Artists - Classical Legends (2003)	so long as it was distributed as a set, yes, list it as a new item. in the notes: section, state that the three parts were also separately-distributed, each with their individual titles & cat#s. since each part is not identical to the set, nor to one another, they should not be linked as identical: but may be linked to in comment°. ° - yr hmbl srppnt. thinks that other items on www.45worlds.com connected so closely should be permitted to be linked to in the notes: section: after all, it's not as though 45worlds'll suddenly delete or change all of a section's urls; but this belief is at best contentious, & possibly heretical...
ppint. 21st Apr 2017		CD Album Lynyrd Skynyrd - One More From The Road (1985)	the album title on the front & rear inserts is "one more for (crossed out) from the road"; that on the disc itself is "one more for from the road", and the other " cd-catted" editions are all listed "one more from the road", so i've listed this under that title. please feel free to alter this to one of the other options - though that actually on the disc doesn't make sense. because of the references to bmi & bmi/ascap, and the absence of any mention of a euro, uk-of-gb-and-norn-ironian or any other royalties & rights agency, i've listed it as a usa mca release: please feel free to change this, too, if i'm wrong. the alternate cat# may be some guide.

ppint. 19th Apr 2017		CD Album Various Artists - Twist And Shout (2013)	sheepd': emi (the gramophone company) took over top rank records and turned the record label into their stateside label, moving onto it future recordings bought in on licence, both as one-offs and as continuing commitments, from outside record companies that had previously been acquired for the emi columbia, hmv pop, parlophone & top rank labels° - the form of the matrix numbers of the (majority of the) single releases betray the essential continuity from t'one to t'other. - so everything released on the uk top rank label after emi (the gramophone company)'s purchase of the company - and arguably aught released on it before that - became the early part of the stateside story, especially if reissued upon the new label - though yr hmbl srppnt.'d not, personally, include any original uk recordings by the independent top rank records in this. ° - where the contractual commitment by the outside record/music company to emi wasn't an exclusive licence for at least the uk of gb & ni, much/most/all of the commonwealth & possibly former british empire (but usually excluding revolting ex-colonials in north america - and sometimes loyal former colonials too), and where emi's commitments to the originating music company didn't include releasing their "product" upon a facsimile of the original label, or on some newly created label clearly indicative of the originators' identity°°, and to which they might retain ownership. °° - e.g. the "tamla motown" label, launched by emi in 1965 in the uk, most yeurppean countries outside comecon, and in south america, anglophone (& afrikaans) africa, asia, xxxxia & kiwiiia...
