ppint. 8th Sep 2015		CD Album The Chieftains - The Chieftains In China (1984)	mods: possibly add some, any or all of the following to the notes: section?: additional to &/or expansions upon the (emboldened) track titles: tracks 1, 6 & 9: performed by the chieftains, (with chinese ensemble) appended; track 2 appends: slán le máighe (slow air); track 3 appends: (polkas), but does not identify which, aside of the track title; track 4 appends: 'sé fáth mo bhuartha (slow air); track 5 & 8 append: (medley), but of what is in neither case identified; track 7 appends: (slow air, introduction chinese p'i p'a); track 9 appends: - an gaoth aneas (slow air); track 10 appends: (reels, introduction chinese air), but identities neither reels nor air. recorded in china & hong kong by brian masterton of windmill lane studios, dublin with assistance from mick o' gorman, mixed at those same studios by bill somerville-large & pearse dunn. the (unidentified) chinese traditional ensembles recording with the chieftains in beijing (peiping, pekin, peking, etc.) suzhow and shanghai co-ordinated by performing arts agency of china, who also helped organise the chieftains' tour.

ppint. 3rd Sep 2015		CD Album Guns N' Roses - Appetite For Destruction (1987)	djpete: - elp! - is mine (- or yours) a later pressing? - mine is geffencat#ed gfld 19286, same cat# on rear of 12pp front insert booklet, bar-code no. 008811928629 (no alternative cat#s, no price-codes below or next to it); mfd in the yuk by universal m & l (mockery and loans?), matrix-equivalent no. gfld19286 02 & (plus, on the inner ring, with the mfr stmt, a smaller-print code i'd need a magnifying-glass to ascertain), and on the obverse of the disc, "mca records ltd are the exclusive licensees in the uk / (p) 1987 geffen records, inc. / © 1987..." geffen logo is much larger, and to the left of the centre hole, with compact disc logo beneath it; "mixed by..." stmt on one line instead of two; copyright etc. rubric below that, "all songs ascap" below track-listing; album title is on two lines, and it & band name are centred l-r. spines of rear insert read "gfld 19286" in red, "guns n' roses" in yellow, "/appetite for destruction" in red, "geffen" in yellow; small-print below "uzi suicide" logo: first line of text in red, all else in white. (elsewise images appear identical).

ppint. 29th Aug 2015		CD Album Nigel Kennedy, English Chamber Orchestra - Vivaldi: The Four Seasons (2008)	each of the four concerti has three movements, and each movement is known by vivaldi's direction of its tempo - packagers upfront evidently decided that there was no reason to include such trivia.

ppint. 23rd Aug 2015		CD Album The Three Tenors - Christmas (2009)	seems to've been packaged for the mail on sunday by carbon music & entertainment, www.carbon-music.co.uk; (p) & © 2009 sony music entertainment uk ltd; all tracks taken from "the three tenors - christmas cd (expanded version)", not yet on 45cdcat, to link to (tracks 11 & 12 of the freebie are not on the 21-track, ordinary version of the album, only on the 23-track "special edition").
ppint. 22nd Aug 2015		CD Album Neil Sedaka - Legends (1994)	gnag150..: it's a perhaps somewhat cynical observation on the standard "imho" - but it can't be too cynical, as it's aimed at the speaker/writer's own self: "in my - not so - humble opinion". (because if the speaker using "imho" truly *were* - they prob'ly wouldn't insert their tuppenceworth at all.)
ppint. 20th Aug 2015		CD Album Neil Sedaka - Legends (1994)	merged: they're all on the same label, and in the same label's cat# sequence; if the label were sold, and the new owner(s) carried the label name as a live entity, we'd hopefully note when the change-over took place, when the distributing co. changed - maybe - but not normally insist on its being a different label. (even if it ceased to be used as a label, and was then relaunched, we treat it as the same label whether it's under the same ownership or not: cf. andrew loog oldham & tony calder's immediate records, which had two reincarnations as (mainly? completely?) a reissue label after the original collapsed iirc, until disappearing for good.) - the twist only comes when one of the modern conglomerates re-uses an old label purely as artwork for a release possibly of material originally from that label, but actually released upon one of its modern "vehicles" - on a music co. label named, & in a cat# sequence, utterly unrelated to the old label. unless they truly reactivate the label and make new releases upon it - all or mostly drawn from the old label's back catalogue of recordings & artists, if they sign no current acts - then it isn't the old label revived, but just a bit of brainstorming by the megacorp's arts department. - im-nsh-o. }:-)

ppint. 16th Aug 2015		CD Album Various Artists - Saturday Night Sunday Morning (2004)	the two cds not distributed together, but with consecutive days' (saturday) daily mail and the mail on sunday in 2004, "saturday night" dm017 being distributed in the two-pocket gatefold card sleeve shown here, and mos027 in a single-pocket sleeve the following day. accordingly, it is perfectly possible to possess either cd in one's collection, without ever having seen t'other, which this listing of the two together does not allow for.
ppint. 16th Aug 2015		CD Album Various Artists - Feelin´ Good (2004)	these two cds not distributed together, but released in separate, consecutive weeks', mails on sunday (? mail on sundays? ?mails on sundays?) in 2004, each in its own card sleeve; mos021a's card sleeve being a two-pocket sleeve (that illustrated here), with the track-listing for the following sunday's mos021b on the empty second pocket, and mos021b's being a single-pocket sleeve, listing only its cd's tracks. it is, accordingly, perfectly possible to possess either in one's collection, which cdcatting the two only as a 2-cd unit makes impossible to record using the "i own" button, and/or to come across either alone, as distributed, without ever seeing t'other. matrix-equivalent no. of mos021a: mos021a1 - cd1 album compiled by john bassett at ods uk.

ppint. 13th Aug 2015		CD Album Various Artists - The Best Of The Classical Brits (2009)	card sleeve separates artists on the same track indifferently by "&", & ",": i've used "," throughout. i've not listed arrangers (in the composer credits), as there doesn't seem to be a consistent or effective "45worlds way" of separating them ("arr." or "arr. by" or "arranged" or "arranged by" all seem to get the "arr."-through-"arranged by" listed as part of the first arranger's name, as a composer) (iyswim).

(not that there isn't an argument for that: but who the packager is, isn't always clearly identified: whereas the newspaper's masthead is ime always boldly proclaimed.)
