ppint. 2nd Apr 2015		CD Album Jethro Tull - This Was (2000)	dated 2000 cos that's the date on emi ltd's card sleeve; only bears the 1968 date of the original lp, and may properly be dated 1986(??).
ppint. 2nd Apr 2015		CD Album Dionne Warwick - The Windows Of The World (1994)	the hinged pasteboard box's colour-printed front, back and top declare this to be "the original album - limited edition"; the front & back inserts and the disc itself, which bear a different disky cat# and bar-code, do not. the fly front edge of the box states "includes bonus tracks"; there are sixteen tracks listed on both the rear of the box, and on the disc & back insert. the limited nature of the pasteboard boxed edition would seem to lie solely in its extra packaging. disky cat# of the disc (and inserts): DCD 5400; bar-code: 8711539061579.
ppint. 2nd Apr 2015		CD Album Mary Chapin Carpenter - State Of The Heart	mods: the "col" prefix to sony inc.'s cat# suggests this may be a uk edition, but all references are to columbia/sony inc, and none to any uk/eu entity except perhaps in mary chapin carpenter's "heartfelt thanks to cbs records john and bob, and my band."

ppint. 1st Apr 2015		CD Album Burning Spear - Best Of The Fittest (2001)	unfortunately the 6pp incl. f&b cvrs of the booklet in my copy of this cd are struck together and would need to be steamed apart - with legibility uncertain, even then; anycdcatter out there with an openable - and legible - booklet, who'd bsgat provide composer, musicians, producer, engineer(s) credits, perhaps?

ppint. 30th Mar 2015		CD Album Rising Sons - Rising Sons Featuring Taj Mahal And Ry Cooder (1993)	colour balance dept? my copy's inserts are definitely printed in red, blue & black on white paper (rather than dull orange, blue & black) - but sony eu (the disc was mfd in austria) may've ordered/imported more than one printing of the inserts, so who knows?
ppint. 30th Mar 2015		CD Album Donovan - What's Bin Did And What's Bin Hid (2001)	card slip-through sleeve of this "expanded deluxe edition" of "donovan's original album" bears inset in four colour printing on dull cobalt blue picture of the singer-songwriter leaning against a trolley-bus or tram (wires) cast-iron standard (a common piece of inner-big city & metropolitan "street furniture" through the sixties).
ppint. 30th Mar 2015		CD Album Donovan - Fairy Tale (2001)	castle music cat# for this cd is actually cmrcd360, not mmrcd360. tracks 13-16 are the pye ep, "universal soldier", NEP 24219 13/8/65, which made at least some of the then rival singles charts, uncommon for the four-track 7" ep which cost between 1.5 & 2 times the price of a single. track 1 lacks donovan's harmonica bridge featured on the hit single version, and track 14 is an alternate version to track 10, lacking a verse of the album version. tracks 17-18 are the a & b-sides of pye single, 7N15984 29/10/65. this "expanded deluxe edition" of "donovan's original album" comes, or came, in a slip-through card sleeve, front printed in a dull cobalt blue featuring the singer-songwriter leaning against a trolley-bus or tram (wires') standard post; the original front cover is inset, in black on white.

ppint. 28th Mar 2015		CD Album Nina Simone - The Nina Simone Collection: A Selection Of Tracks Recorded For The Colpix Label 1959-1964 (2004)	composer credits are printed in very small light orange type on the white ground; misreadings may have been caused thereby, and corrections are invited accordingly.

ppint. 27th Mar 2015		CD Album Nina Simone - My Baby Just Cares For Me (1993)	the logic (?) of the liner notes suggests the "missing" tracks are "for all we know", "he needs me" & "he's got the whole world in his hands"; but i am not sure of this. and to further complicate calculations, she also recorded her own "african mailman" for bethlehem, who released it. . .

ppint. 26th Mar 2015		CD Album Dave Davies - Chosen People (2005)	first released in 1983 on warner 92-3917-2, apparently; a fact that the recorded music side of that doubtless very worthy conglomerate neglected to make widespread - else i'd've got it then. - did any vinyl/cdcatter buy or otherwise get hold of it, that first time around?
ppint. 24th Mar 2015		CD Album The Housemartins - The Best Of The Housemartins (2004)	9818213 (602498182130) adds a disc2 of videos: 1 sheep; 2; happy hour; 3 think for a minute; 4 caravan of love; 5 five get over-printed excited; 6 me and the farmer; 7 build; 8 there is always something there to remind me.
ppint. 23rd Mar 2015		CD Album Jack Bruce - Shadows In The Air (2001)	the title of track 13, "He. The Richmond", without the period, but with double (or at least an emsworth) space after the "He", does not begin with the male singular pronoun - it is the scots english exclamation word, often used to signify a celebratory ejaculation or interjection, usually with an exclamation mark or "shriek", "!" there is no such punctuation in the album's track listing, but the word isn't a tyop, literal or simple mistake. (my apologies to those cdcatters already aware of the phenomenon.)

ppint. 17th Mar 2015		CD Album Cream - Wheels Of Fire (1998)	the two discs are individually polydor cat#ed 531 813-2 & 531 814-2 respectiwiggly (though not sfaiaa released separately, as the lps were as well as, as the double lp), which explains the gap in the polydor cat#ering between the remastered "wheels of fire" and the remastered "goodbye".

ppint. 16th Mar 2015		CD Album Kinks - Face To Face (1998)	at the time, ray davies' composer credit was always "r. d. davies" - never "ray davies"; this may have been a mere matter of formality, a requirement of copyright law - or almost anything else, as he was certainly known as "ray" to some staff and browsers in muswell hill's best record (& music) shop. the most recent style seems to be to give his full name; so the above form is something of a compromise. edit: this has been changed, anonymously, giving rise to needless ambiguity, there being *two* kinky komposer gentlemen hight "davies" in the group.
