Dr Doom SUBS 7th Nov 2015		Cinema Outlaw (2007)	Rated 4/10 The directors commentary for this film is somewhat infamous/hilarious (search for edited highlights on Youtube - NSFW!) so I thought I'd give the film a try. It's really not as bad as most reviewers warned us. Dr Doom SUBS 4th Sep 2015		Cinema Halfway Inn (1969) (1969)	Rated 3/10 A black and white silent short with a very basic plot involving a young man turning up to spend a night at an inn and not getting a wink of sleep as instead he repeatedly 'makes love' with the Innkeeper's beautiful and seemingly insatiable daughter. The punchline being that there are actually two twin daughters (the Collinson twins of Playboy and Hammer fame) who've been taking turns and wearing the poor chap out, as it were. Surprisingly graphic for 1969. I wonder if this film was ever shown in 'normal' cinemas or whether it was made for Soho's sex cinemas? 2 people found this review helpful. ✔︎ Helpful Review?
Dr Doom SUBS 4th Sep 2015		Cinema A Penny For Your Thoughts Or 'Birds, Dolls And Scratch' English Style (1965) (1965)	Rated 6/10 Ever wondered what women say about men behind their backs? Well this Black and White 40 minute short provides a possible answer (at least for 1965) With quirky, jerky editing and pop-art close ups along with the constant chatter it all gets a bit much at times to be honest. It's still worth a look even as just a snapshot of 1965. Quite amazing to hear a young woman fret about getting married as she felt old at the tender age of 21! Presumably there was no such thing as music clearance in those days as numerous big hits of the sixties are heard in the background including The Game Of Love (Wayne Fontana And The Mindbenders), I'm Alive (The Hollies) and It's My Life (The Animals) 3 people found this review helpful. ✔︎ Helpful Review?
Dr Doom SUBS 30th Aug 2015		Cinema Mudhoney (1965) (1965)	I have a vague recollection that they did name themselves after the film despite having never seen it. I may have dreamed this up of course. Bizarre to think of a pre-internet time where you couldn't listen to or watch almost anything you fancy!

Dr Doom SUBS 8th Jun 2015		Cinema Mad Max: Fury Road (2015) (2015)	Rated 8/10 As I left the cinema I overheard someone saying that they liked the film but there was no story. I had already been warned that it had the simplest premise of all time 'Some people want to get somewhere, other people will try anything to stop them doing so' - With that in mind I enjoyed this immensely and I especially enjoyed that the main baddie looked like a cross between Peter Stringfellow and Slipknot. I'm usually not a fan of action movies as they tend to come with a load of moral or sentimental baggage but this film doesn't. It's brutal. It's genuinely otherworldly and has a real sense of dread. I'm also a huge fan of the soundtrack.
