from JohnPlatt's book 'London Rock Routes' - "an excellent performance by The Yardbirds in a studio mock-up of, oddly enough, the Windsor Ricky Tick, albeit transposed into Oxford Street"

There is scene during this 1966 Antonioni film "Blow Up" featuring David Hemmings driving up and down Stockwell Road, South London in his Bentley convertible, and as an "art shot", the red painted buildings were visible. They belonged to Pride & Clarke Ltd., who sold sold Motor Cycles, Scooters, some Automobiles, and predominantly, spares and accessories for motor cyclists. They ceased trading a number of years ago.

I grew up in the immediate vicinity, see my comment at ST-11599 Sammy Hagar.

In my opinion, the one and only potent film about the so-called "Swingin' London" but it plays on so many levels that it goes way beyond that simple tag.
London has never been more fascinating than filmed by Antonioni, and Hemmings and Redgrave are at their peak.

I read somewhere that Antonioni wanted The Who, but The Who wanted more money!

Also the first mainstream UK film to show full-frontal female nudity. Just sayin'...

What!!! No Mention of The Yardbirds!! Seen this film (on TV) a couple of times, mainly to see the Yardbirds.
