An outstanding 1950s sci-fi adventure which borrows from William Shakespeare’s The Tempest, and serves up a cautionary tale on scientific experimentation. A scientist uses psycho-kinetic machines developed by the super-advanced ex-inhabitants of the planet to increase his mental capacity, but subconsciously unleashes an actualisation of his very jealous id.

Bloody brilliant!

A re-telling of Shakespeare's The Tempest (apparently, I don't know my Shaky!) with all the stops pulled out, from the groundbreaking electronic score to the sumptuous background mattes!

Yes, the acting is a bit wooden (I keep expecting Commander Adams to say "Don't call me Shirley"!) but that adds to its charm, for me (as do Anne Francis' legs, but that's another story!).

Robbie The Robot was the inspiration for "Robot" in Lost In Space and the actual Robbie appeared in at least one LIS storyline!
