Wow, thanks for that! I don't recall the Everley's at all,but think I started taping on footage of a vintage car and Dock of the Bay in the background. Good stuff. Thanks.

After further investigation, entering the search string "Rhythms of the World "Otis Redding"" on BBC Genome, I found.......

Saturday 18 February 1989, 2005-2055 hrs Rhythms of the World LINKED

Three Sides of the South Tonight's programme presents three distinctive types of music from the southern states of America: blues, soul and country.
The programme opens with a one-off performance from the Everly Brothers. Through old-time country songs like Lightning Express and Barbara Allen , the Everlys evoke the music of their
Appalachian childhood and pay tribute to the musical tradition of rural America.
The music of Delta bluesman Son House forms the second part of this southern trilogy. Son House died in October last year and this film is the only surviving footage of the man who inspired the , blues greats.
The programme finishes with the first showing on British television of Otis Redding at the 1967 Monterey pop festival.

I too have seen this film of Otis Redding's performance on television, and most probably taped it on a VHS recorder using a blank tape, although to find it on about 2,000 tapes is a bit of a tall order.....

Of course there was "Monterey Pop" with performances by Hendrix, The Who and others which I have also seen, but that's not it.

I searched BBC Genome (a valuable resource) and found "Soul Night" shown on BBC2 Sat. 29-Aug-1998 between 2010-0040 hrs.

At 2355-0040 hrs "Otis and Friends" was shown, with the text "Footage of soul star Otis Redding performing at the 1967 Monterey pop festival and on the Stax/
Volt European tour...........
"

I link that page, and also the page for the "Soul Night" shown on BBC2, which is the programme I would have seen, due to my interest in soul music, and the fact that I had seen Otis Redding and the Stax revue live on stage at Croydon's Fairfield Halls on Easter Monday, 1967, the same year as his death in an air crash later in 1967.

I recall taping a programme in the late 80s (maybe) called Rhythms of the World, which after a short introduction stated 'For the first time on British tv, the whole of Otis Redding's legendary 1967 performance at Monterey' I'm presuming this is the short film that they used.
