Comment by PhilMH: And indeed, Discogs has the UK/Europe release on Decca. Comment by PhilMH: Sheepdip1234 is right; at that time, classical releases on London were reserved for the Americas and Far East, where MCA Records had the rights to the Decca name; adverts for London in the US Schwann catalogue in the 1980s highlighted the fact that the records were made in the Netherlands. Releases for UK, Europe and the rest of the world were on Decca, and most likely one pressing from the Netherlands would have been used for all those territories, Decca's UK factory at New Malden having closed shortly after the PolyGram takeover.

Comment by Gill Sans SUBS: It doesn't look like a UK London label, and it was pressed in Holland; either Netherlands or German I should think, but if we want to hedge our bets it could go under "European". Comment by sheepdip1234 SUBS: Country should be USA or Canada as the UK issue would be on Decca I suspect.

Comment by LaurenceD SUBS: Fixed that; a rather glaring copy/paste error on my part ;-) Comment by Gill Sans SUBS: Hey, how did Berliner Philharmoniker get in here! Good job Leonard has sharp eyes ;-) Comment by leonard ●: I wonder most what the Berliner Philharmoniker are doing here. The orchestra is the Concergebouw Orchestra! If you look too close to something, you’re losing the view…… Comment by LaurenceD SUBS: Hi, I have a couple of early CDs that make use of sub-track indices. On the EMI discs such as this one, the tracks are designated by a number in a square (note the timings to the far right). The indices are designated by (IN:DEX) #, followed by timings indented to the left of the track timings. Most modern audio compact disc players do not display an index counter, and usage of the index feature was largely abandoned by the 1990s.
