Nils-Erik Sparf, The Drottningholm Baroque Ensemble - Antonio Vivaldi (1985)
Very good Production/sound quality on this one, along with some great Violin from Nils-Erik Sparf (Violin = Cornelius Kleyman, Amsterdam c. 1680, Bow = W. Baumann, Amsterdam) .

Andrew Manze, Rachel Podger, The Academy Of Ancient Music - J. S. Bach: Solo And Double Violin Concertos (1997)
When i added this one i enjoyed this release but the Disc had quite a few scratches, so i ordered another one online at a reasonable price, and when it arrived i noticed the changes to the outer card slipcover artwork. A quick search online revealed that the initial realease was in 1997, utilising the two Cat No's - HMX2907135 and HMU 2907155, and it appears that whilst the inner artwork/Disc, does not change, there are differences to the outer card slipcover, and, the current Harmonia Mundi catalogue is put inside, so, i have seen catalogues online for 1999, 2005, and here we have now 2000 and 2007. It will be interesting to see how many more variants/catalogues we can add here.
(The image of the back of the 2000 release i just added (3277148) has the secondary Cat No. HMX 2907155 on the top spine)

Wells Cathedral Choir, String Ensemble From Wells Cathedral School, Anthony Crossland - Music From Wells Cathedral (1980)
One of the advantages of being totally new to Classical music and therefore having no preconceptions, is discoveries like this, glorius choral pieces, and great musicianship.
I'm not a religious man, but i can appreciate the great music on offer here, a keeper!.

Yo-Yo Ma - Bach: Unaccompanied Cello Suite No. 3 And No. 6 (1985)
:) Ha Ha, yes, very true, text seems to be getting smaller and smaller, it's not easy reading some CD artwork, especially new ones, i need a magnifying glass to hand at all times thesedays, but, in this case, i can't read the booklet text because the remaing 8 pages are in Japanese ;)

Yo-Yo Ma - Bach: Unaccompanied Cello Suite No. 3 And No. 6 (1985)
With regards to the date here, although it has 1983 on both Disc and artwork, Discogs has the note : "Recorded on 23 February 1982 (suite 3); 12 May 1984 (suite 6); at Vanguard Studios, NY.", which might explain the '85 date. I can't read the booklet text so cannot confirm if that detail is in the notes. The first Japanese classical CD issue in the 38DC series by CBS/Sony was 38DC 1, which was 1982.(this one sounds great).

Simon Petrov, International Festival Orchestra, Claudio Roma - Mendelssohn: Violin Concerto (1989)
Although these Donau's appear to be a "budget" German/European label, this particular one sounds great/good production, with a fine performance by Simon throughout.
(plain, silvered CD labelside with black text)

One of these "PCM" Audiophile pressings, i can confirm that the sound quality is excellent.
I've also included scans of the accompanying insert showing the other recordings available in the series.
(unfortunately, i don't have the OBI, hopefully someone else will oblige)

London Symphony Orchestra - Scheherazade (1965)
With a nod to keebrev, Gill Sans, PhilMH, added a couple of scans of the alternate Phase 4 explanation inner.
Discogs has the label on these Phase 4's as simply Decca, and has "Phase 4 Stereo Spectacular" or " Phase 4 Stereo Concert Series" as the series, rather than the label as we have, is that right?
(i think these Phase 4's sound pretty good, judging by the one's i've heard so far)

Just found this in a chazza, very good condition, disc like new, obviously well cared for.
I assume this is English even if the cover is printed in the U.S.A.?,
There is a rubber stamped address on the back "W.H.Smith & Son (Canada) Ltd., 224 Yonge Street, EM. 6-2204, Books, Stationery, Records."
The matrix is ...
Side 1 - 3, N, BH, CA ARL 1329 1B (machine stamped).
Side 2 - 2, CT, M, CA ARL 1330 1B (machine stamped).
Datgogs hasn't got this one yet, they have the 1953 version (same Cat.No.)
The only one i could find was this one on ebay, and that had a date of 1959 so have gone with that for the moment unless anyone knows any different of course, so, a later re-issue by the looks of it ?.
