LaurenceD SUBS 13th Nov 2014		Classical Item Concertgebouw-Orchester, Amsterdam - Mahler: Symphonie Nr. 1 "Der Titan" (1981)	Philips' mid-priced Sequenza series made its debut in 1981, and reviews for this release also start appearing that same year, so I have reset the date accordingly. [edit] I believe that this recording's first release was on Philips 6500 342 in late 1972.
LaurenceD SUBS 5th Oct 2014		Classical Item Vladimir Ashkenazy, London Symphony Orchestra, André Previn - Prokofiev: Piano Concertos No. 3 And No. 4 (1977)	These recordings were originally issued as part of a 3-disc box set of 5 concertos, London CSA 2314 (1975). The discs in that set used the cat numbers CS 6962, 6963 and 6964. This release used the same third disc from that set with a new cover, hence the sides 3 & 4 of 6 shown on these labels.
LaurenceD SUBS 4th Oct 2014		Classical Item Mayumi Fujikawa, Elena Livshitz, Rudolf Barshai, Moscow Chamber Orchestra - Laureates Of The 4th International Tchaikovsky Competition (1976)	The Fourth International Tchaikovsky Competition was held in 1970. (Note that on the track listings on the cover and labels, the Bach concerto is erroneously described as in the key of D major; the liner notes have the correct key of E major)
LaurenceD SUBS 3rd Oct 2014		Classical Item Lev Oborin, David Oistrakh, Sviatoslav Knushevitsky - Rachmaninoff: Trio No.2 Opus 9, "Elegiaque" (1973)	The notes do not specify the original recording date, but I believe that this performance was from around 1958. Knushevitsky passed away in 1963.
LaurenceD SUBS 20th Aug 2014		Classical Item Alfred Brendel, London Philharmonic Orchestra, Bernard Haitink - Beethoven: Piano Concerto No. 4 In G, Op. 58 (1979)	Not 100% sure about the release date of this one, but I know that the full set of concertos (Philips 6767 002, 5 LPs) was first released in 1977, and then the individual concerto releases appeared some time thereafter.
LaurenceD SUBS 31st Jul 2014		Classical Item András Schiff - Beethoven Works On Beethoven's Piano (1978)	It's worth mentioning that Beethoven would have been stone deaf by the time he took possession of the piano used here, though he still managed to compose some major works with it. I guess that the action of the keys met with his approval.
LaurenceD SUBS 23rd Jul 2014		Classical Item Alfred Brendel - Piano Sonatas ''Les Adieux'' ''Hammerklavier'' (1981)	I believe that this LP was released in the early 1980s, as most reviews seem to date from early 1982. Note the publishing date for Op.81a on side 1.
LaurenceD SUBS 12th Apr 2014		Classical Item Janet Baker, English Chamber Orchestra, Raymond Leppard - Janet Baker Sings Handel (1990)	The CD version of this release gives each movement from Lucrezia its own track number, so I used that arrangement for this cassette, to make it more readable.
