 Filmed in a widescreen eye-popping saturated colour palette.
During a trip to Berlin many years back, and while looking for rare DVDs, I discovered that this is just one of at least 2 dozen 'fairytale features' made by the same East German production company (DEFA Stiftung) in 1950s-1970s. I would have bought many of the available DVDs but unfortunately only 3 had an English language option, including The Golden Goose and The Devil's Three Golden Hairs.

 Ah, The Tinder Box, such memories.
These 2 I found both frightening and compelling to watch.
I was about 7 years old and the memories have stayed with me for 50 years. These little movies probably were responsible for my journey into the worlds of Robert E. Howard, Tolkien, Moorcock, Pratchett and many more.

Oh and The Golden Goose, some dude had the golden goose and anyone who touched it stuck to it or something like that.

 OH! Yes. One of the "The Tales from Europe" Sagas. The Tinder Box, was another one with Giant Dogs. Really creepy dwarf tricks a princess into looking after a Giant Fish. It was ripped apart by these guys. H.
