This regular series of short documentary films was produced in the 1960s by the Special Features Division of the Rank Organisation to screen in their Odeon and Gaumont cinemas. Marvellously concise and beautifully shot, these colour featurettes, numbering over 500 in total, presented cinemagoers with varied aspects of modern British life.

This volume presents over 100 films whose subjects cover an incredibly diverse range: from crime prevention to refuse collection, from caravanning to fashion modelling! Many have remained unseen since their first screening five decades ago and are presented here complete and uncut.

albert 29th May 2024		Volume 8 is the largest in the Look At Life series and rounds up the remaining titles that were not pigeonholed onto the other 7 volumes, (and in that respect is the most varied and, dare I say, most interesting of the series). I do own volumes 1, 3, 5, 6, 7 & 8. Note that since Network went bust last year all volumes are likely to become sought after collectors items.
