albert 11th Apr 2021		Notes For An African Oresteria, I can only describe as being a collection of random home-movie footage from African travels accompanied by a rambling dialogue. Pasolini's comments are his 'notes' making suggestions for ideas, "this could be the village, this man could be so-and-so", etc. It is very hard to imagine that the poverty and dereliction on show could ever be translated into the beautiful images seen in his films, which are more of a European idealised and fake vision of Africa. BFI have repackaged this title one or more times, though I think the contents remain the same.
