albert 1st Aug 2023		Eurotrash DVD	This is the one I know you have all been waiting for, (c'mon admit it!). But you'd better be quick because, last time I looked, the publishers Network have gone bust and copies are now getting scarce. Check ebay for inflated prices, £300+ anyone?. ...I have just noticed that they have edited some of the content for "contractual reasons", hopefully this is to cut out some of the tiresome minor celebrities who occasionally got interviewed, and not any of the hilarious stuff. The whole set will take you 54 hours to watch !

gregs45s SUBS 13th Jul 2023		Avatar: The Way Of Water Blu-ray	Have not watched this yet (sometime this weekend, no spoilers please;) but surprised to see it's only got a 7.6/10 rating on IMDB. Bit miffed with the packaging as, instead of the usual rigid "Amaray" Blu-ray case, you get a flimsy "Elite" case, which flexes alarmingly as you try to open it!, and, it only holds a reduced size inlay/artwork which, is also on thinner than usual card/paper. (Here's hoping the film's good anyway;) I was also shocked to find that the 3D Blu-ray of this is £34.99 in HMV!, Gulp! (Now watched and i must say deserves better than a 7.5/10, i would rate it at an 8 or 8.5/10. Technically, it's brilliant, the one reserve being that it's about half an hour longer than it may have needed to be)

Magic Marmalade 1st Jul 2023		The Beastmaster (Directors Cut) DVD	Rated 2/10 I've added a rating of 2 for this disc, not the movie itself. I love the movie, as I grew up with it on TV (The mouthless vampire doo-dads which encompass you with their wings and eat you still give me the willies!) No, I'm rating the print of the movie on this disc, and the absolutely horrific attempt to restore the missing footage, which looks like they found the can of film in a trashcan full of bin juice after all these years, and just plonked it in their with zero restoration, or any attempt to match anything with the existing film (already wobbly, unrestored)... ...This new footage is probably what the word "Shonky" was invented for. Super-shonk! Absolute crud, and a cynical, uncaring attempt to merely push this out the door on DVD. This will disturb your enjoyment of an old movie fave. ✔︎ Helpful Review?

Eric Clapton - Layla / Madonna - Vogue / The Three Tenors - O Sole Mio / Cardigans - Lovefool / Cake - The Distance / 311 - Down / I thought the first DVD's were released in 1996?, making this 1998 release a bit late to be something "new" i would have thought?.

It is likely that the Hey Bulldog segment is in all recent worldwide blu-rays, whereas the 'Beatles to battle' segment found on this VHS will be chopped.

It has the same program as the commercial VHS copy (I checked both), and neither copy has the "Hey Bulldog" segment. I've never owned a UK copy, so I have no idea what differences they share?!?
