Graham7 9th May 2015 | | DVDFargo - PolyGram Video (1998) | This is my oldest DVD I think. Includes widescreen and 4:3 versions on a 2 sided disc.
Comes with a 16 page booklet in 4 languages with Introduction to DVD's interactive menus, plus plot summary and Select a Scene pages.
The packaging is different to what we know today, being an enlarged CD case.

Graham7 8th May 2015 | | DVDWoodstock: 3 Days Of Peace & Music - Warner Home Video (1997) | I used to have a UK version, which was a digipack type with a fold out card cover attached to a plastic tray, but gave it away when I got a 4 disc version (2009), which I'll look at adding.
If your disc is a double sider it may be from 1997, or do we go with the insert date of 2000?
Scans of disc and insert would be nice.
Can you describe the packaging? Is it a rigid clear CD style case, or as I described?
Graham7 8th May 2015 | | DVDLeon - Touchstone | Don't worry about it MM. We've only just started on this potentially enormous world.
I think it's a great film too, one of the last I actually saw in a cinema. Used to have a VHS, but lent it out and never got it back... or did I - lots of boxes not looked in yet.
Graham7 8th May 2015 | | DVDLeon - Touchstone | I also think this a UK release, not Europe.
The certification is for UK, and the VPRC (Video Packaging Review Committee) logo is UK only. It may have course been available in other European countries where video certification is not a legal requirement. I've left it as Europe for now
Graham7 8th May 2015 | | DVDWoodstock: 3 Days Of Peace & Music - Warner Home Video (1997) | Can't see a date on packaging, but it must be 1997 or later.
Date removed for now, it's not 1994.
Graham7 8th May 2015 | | DVDLeon - Touchstone | Date cannot be 1994, the first DVDs went on sale in 1997. There may be a (post 1997) date on the packaging, but I can't see it on the scan. I have therefore removed the date for now.
Graham7 8th May 2015 | | DVDEd Wood - Touchstone (2002) | Date cannot be 1994, the first DVDs went on sale in 1997.
There may be a (post 1997) date on the packaging, but I can't see it on the scan.
I have therefore removed the date for now.
Graham7 7th May 2015 | | VHSMen In Black - Columbia TriStar (1997) | Good that others still have some VHS, it would be nice to see the spines though. .
What I've been doing is including it with the back cover scan, easy to do as most cover inserts are a single sheet.
Graham7 3rd May 2015 | | VHSDriver - Thorn EMI | No post 1985 certification stickers on this, as Thorn EMI didn't resubmit some old films this was one of the videos that had to be taken off the shelves. Monty Python's Life Of Brian also fell victim to the Video Recordings Act, iirc.
I think I got a few Betamax tapes somewhere....
Graham7 2nd May 2015 | | VHSChristine - RCA / Columbia Pictures (1984) | The additional 18 stickers would have been applied to this after 1985, as a result of Video Recordings Act 1984.
Graham7 30th Apr 2015 | | DVDJefferson Starship: The Definitive Concert - Image Entertainment (1998) | Date corrected. See back cover MCMXCVIII
Graham7 30th Apr 2015 | | DVDBeavis And Butt-Head Do America - Paramount (2006) | Have changed date (from 1996) to 2006. See date on disc.
Graham7 30th Apr 2015 | | DVDBody Of Evidence - MGM (2002) | Date can't be 1993, the DVD wasn't invented until 1995, and the first DVD Videos went on sale in August 1997.
I have removed the date for now.
Graham7 30th Apr 2015 | | DVD28 Days Later - 20th Century Fox (2007) | (some) Days Later - I've made a new entry for the Rental Only copy, which has a reversible sleeve, and moved your disc image over.
This edition (from the double pack with 28 Weeks Later, I reckon) doesn't seem to have any special features, the rental copy has plenty.
Graham7 25th Apr 2015 | | DVD28 Days Later - 20th Century Fox (2007) | Nick, the DVD and cover in your set don't match!
The disc is For Rental Viewing Only, the cover appears to be from a retail box set (not for individual sale,no barcode) and is marked Not For Rental.
I have a (ex)rental copy, and will scan the cover later.
Graham7 24th Apr 2015 | | LaserDiscPoltergeist - MGM / UA (1983) | LaserDiscDatabase has this and 2000 other CEDs listed. See CED Magic for more.
Graham7 18th Apr 2015 | | DVDThe Rutles - Prism Leisure (2005) | The Rutles: All You Need Is Cash first shown in US on NBC, then in UK on BBC2 March 1978.
I'm sure it's been shown in a cinema setting at least once, but I don't think there's a home for it on Cinema World just yet (maybe TV World), but the DVD should stay for now- I guess Colin and Alan are busy plotting how to integrate music based video media into these worlds.
I saw The Rutles in the Acoustic tent at Glastonbury 2004, and they were Prefab!
Graham7 18th Apr 2015 | | LaserDiscPoltergeist - MGM / UA (1983) | This isn't a LaserDisc, but RCA's version, Capacitance Electronic Disc (wikipedia), an analog system using a 12" vinyl disc and stylus, up to 12 miles of groove per side, plays at 500rpm (UK PAL) - I did not know that!
I've only got this one disc, picked up for a quid at a boot sale very recently, have nothing to play it on!
Graham7 16th Apr 2015 | | DVDBlade Runner: The Director's Cut - Warner Home Video (2006) | Changed date to 2006 (as per cover), the Director's Cut was first released 1991.
Just added a VHS copy (1997), and am contemplating adding my 5 disc version which includes this, The Final Cut (2007), Original US and International theatrical versions and Workprint.
Graham7 16th Apr 2015 | | DVDLet The Right One In - Momentum Pictures (2009) | Looks like the cover is for UK only, but the disc would also be for Ireland, with its higher 18 age rating.
My South Park DVDs (for example) have just the UK classification on the cover, but the discs show age ratings for 2-3 other European countries, and I would expect the covers to be different in other territories too.
Graham7 16th Apr 2015 | | DVD Box SetThis Is Spinal Tap - Optimum (2009) | I added this as Europe, but I've changed it to UK, though as with many DVDs, it's for both UK and Ireland as evidenced by the 2 age classification symbols on cover and discs.
Graham7 15th Apr 2015 | | VHSDriver - Thorn EMI | Ah, I tried doing this, but it didn't look right, so I undid it, probably cos I had multiple windows open. . Now I see you've done it, and yes, it works just fine.
It's VHS 2 : Betamax 1
Graham7 15th Apr 2015 | | VHSDriver - Thorn EMI | Released in UK as "Driver", the US movie title is "The Driver". To get them to link I've entered the VHS (er, "disc") title wrongly. How best to deal with this? I note the BBFC call it "The Driver".
I've adapted the cover artwork to provide an image for the Movie entry, hope that is ok.
Do we want just labels or the whole cassette case? - I've added both here.
