I saw them many times in North Wales during the "Beat Group" era and they never failed to deliver a superb show.

As it's a historical event in the context of the progress of the biggest ever group in popular music, I think we should leave it as it is, as little is known about other acts on the bill for these auditions. Carroll Levis was a bit of a Simon Cowell of his day and did not perform. The Beatles had to do it the hard way, having to perform maybe hundreds of times before getting any real fame. Nowadays the pop music industry is full of overnight success acts who have instant stardom many of whom have the talent to lipsync and little else..
