OldMod67 10th May 2024		Live Music The Fall @ Bournemouth Town Hall (1985)	My cousin attended this gig, in fact we only spoke about it again yesterday (Bournemouth Runner etc). I so regret not going to this one, not sure why I couldn't go. New Order played here too, which a mate of mine went to. I had N.O. first three singles and recall a last minute scoot down on my semi-trusty Vespa to maybe blag a ticket somehow, saw how my madness had gotten the better of me and scooted off elsewhere!

OldMod67 10th Sep 2023		Live Music Television Personalities @ Old White Horse (1986)	Television Personalities had recently released their latest single How I Learned To Love The Bomb on 12". Dan's partner Emily was in Hangman's Beautiful Daughters, although their (And) Love is Blue 7"/12" had yet to be released. Recently found the gig flyer (added above) which Emily had used to scrawl me a note from Dreamworld Records! The venue was originally Ye Olde White Horse and is currently a club, Brixton Jamm.
OldMod67 24th Aug 2023		Live Music Secret Affair @ The Bridge House (1979)	This was the gig that became the Mods Mayday '79 LP. The original ad for the gig only listed the two bands above (I can't seem to locate the cutting, it may be lost now). Obviously other bands were playing which the venue did list, The Little Roosters being replaced by Squire.

OldMod67 5th Dec 2021		Live Music Edwin Starr @ Butlins (2002)	After all this time I can't be certain, but I think it was: Friday : The Drifters Saturday: Edwin Starr Sunday: Jimmy James I do recall my son technically went (my wife was pregnant), it was very cold, Jimmy was really good and Edwin was amazing!

OldMod67 21st Jun 2021		Live Music John's Boys @ The Marquee Club [Soho] (1979)	This was the first of two 'secret' gigs rehearsing for the Setting Sons tour. The other was at the Nashville the following night. The second gig had the band listed in some ads as The Eton Rifles and some as La Confiture!

Then there was the surprise skinhead attack, the broken coach windows, the police etc Conversation on Monday at school as to how my weekend was proved interesting....
OldMod67 26th Mar 2021		Live Music The Jam @ Guildhall (1982)	Added my ticket from the Portsmouth gig. The half that read 'Jam' was retained, with 'The' being handed back. Only a small grumble, but 39 years on I'm still a bit miffed. A great 'Friday after school' gig though!

Apologies for photo quality (Kindle) but at least it's up! We were also given free 'Sounds' patches (as they promoted the tour). All these years later it's still in its wrap, so you can see how keen I was to wear it!

Looking at the setlist, and being such a hoarder, I think I still have the lyrics & chords of Stepping Into The Light somewhere.....
OldMod67 7th May 2019		Live Music Secret Affair @ Rainbow Theatre (1979)	Cheers for that. I assumed Squire were out for a good while. I just wondered with these listings whether it should be the billed artist(s) or those who actually performed on the night?
OldMod67 14th Apr 2019		Live Music Secret Affair @ Rainbow Theatre (1979)	Just wondered if anyone can confirm Squire played this. They were due at the Village Bowl in Bournemouth on the 10th,but had to pull out due to the drummer being injured (Back To Zero filling in) and missed a lot of dates.
OldMod67 13th Oct 2018		Live Music The Truth @ Wessex Hotel (1983)	Further to the above, Howard Jones appeared with a mime artist (this is before Howard became famous- I had no idea who he was anyway) The Truth had released a couple of singles by this time and were certainly the band most had come to see from what I could tell. Again, if I find my ticket I'll upload when scanner issues sorted.
OldMod67 17th May 2018		Live Music The Truth @ Bournemouth Pavilion (1983)	I don't remember much about the gig, only that I enjoyed it immensely. There was a cock-up with 'The Beat Generation' and I do recall Dennis Greaves commenting and actually restarting the song. Tickets were available via Snu-Peas record shop in Boscombe. Still have ticket (number 0001) and will upload it when able to again.

Aside from my wife, I also attended this with a mate who went to the Beat Surrender gig at the same venue 10 years earlier, Nice to hear Man In The Cornershop....GJ
