Notes Special noon-hour concert given by the original members of Bill Haley's Comets for staff at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. This unusual concert was organized by promoter Martin Lewis as part of the Rock is Fifty celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of Rock Around the Clock hitting #1 on the US charts and what would have been the 80th birthday of Bill Haley. The concert was held at JPL to celebrate the successful arrival the previous evening of the Deep Impact space probe at Comet Tempel 1, the first time a probe impacted the surface of a comet. Comets line-up: Marshall Lytle (bass), Joey Ambrose (sax), Dick Richards (drums), Franny Beecher (guitar) and Johnny Grande (piano). Comments and Reviews
