Long time coming but the answer is... they were her backing group. If you check in Richard DiLello's book, The Longest Cocktail Party, p204, he talks about these gigs (not much but enough to know) and says "they had become the Marsha Hunt and White Trash Roadshow" and that she ripped her vocal chords one night "as she strained to be heard above the overamplification of White Trash's backing".

Does anyone know if White Trash were Marsha's backing band for gigs around this time, or purely a support act?
