RIOT SMALL FACES AND CANNED HEAT BANNED FROM COSTON HALL. During Small Faces Set Management cut electrics to stage then canned heat joined small faces and jammed Police removed them from stage

Lincoln Lad 26th Dec 2020		I remember this lineup. There were two shows and I went to the first. The Nice were a “no show” because O’List had just been fired so that puts the concert date late 1968 and I moved to Bristol September 1968. So either this roadshow played Colston Hall twice or the date’s wrong but I do vaguely remember the second show ending in chaos and doubtful they would have been invited back. I remember the compere commenting on the amount of equipment Canned Heat had. None of this mix and match mash up of brands - it was a beautiful lead stack of 8 cabinets set in a curve and a double twin stack bass set up. Great set. The Small Faces live were nothing like their commercial singles - an r&b band. PS I’ve researched some more. I think this concert took place on 25 Sep68.
