| Orbiting Cat 18th Oct 2023 | (Comment by submitter Helbic copied from notes): Not a bad gig and entertaining enough. I have a few crticisms though. One is the venue itself. The seating is now showing its age. Cramped and uncomfortable. As for the show itself and the band... My main two points are that this is billed as a Jukebox type of show which is, they play songs from 60s through the 80s featuring the guitar work of our heroes. I found that the band themselves did start playing the songs as we remember them but then started interjecting their own 'inerpretations' of the lead breaks - prime example was on Comfortably Numb. Who can better Dave Gilmore's classic lead breaks? Certainly not this band who decided to go off script with it. Similarly the vocals were not great. I didn't expect them to sound like the bands in terms of vocal, but did in terms of guitar work which was not quite up to scratch. Some lovely and iconic guitars on show though! | |
