Algodancer_ 26th Aug 2023		Vinyl Album Ross Bagdasarian - A Summer Day's Delight	According to the artist behind the album's cover, John August Swanson (1938-2021), this was actually released in 1973 as a tribute album put together by his family and record label. Here are some of his comments about the record: "A young man, enthusiastic for my work, saw the artwork and wanted to purchase it. He said it reminded him of his family, and the stories he remembered of their gatherings. They were Armenian immigrants and had lived in the Central Valley of California. His father, the talented and popular singer/composer, Ross Bagdasarian Sr., died in 1972, the year before I completed the painting. Ross Bagdasarian, Jr. purchased the painting, which was used as the cover art for a special tribute album their recording company produced, commemorating his father." "Ross Bagdasarian: A Summer Day’s Delight, United Artists Records; Record Illustration. Presented as United Artists’ choice for the Art Director’s Show, New York, 1973, Special Award" The painting featured on the album cover is known as "Family Picnic".
