The Marvelettes - Silly Boy / Way Over There
MY image---and thanks for your wonderful posts; wow, did not know it was blocked on YouTube, srecrcr, explain that one for me, I am very interested to know the story. Be advised that, after I secured this Motown 78 rpm, the entire Philippines late 78 rpm market---product and sellers, came to literally a screeching halt in early 2000. Before this disappearance, I happily purchased many of these 78s, mainly pressed by Dyna Products, which replicated the American labels of: Sue, Cameo/Parkway, Specialty, Imperial, Liberty, United Artists and many more in both the 78 and 45 rpm formats. I have never been able to find any other of Motown's Tamla-Dyna 78's which, sadly enough, no Motown artists never knew about, including The Marvelettes, which had an earlier 78 rpm pressing of "Playboy" on both Philippine labels Hi-Fi Records and Grand Records, This Tamla-Motown 78 is second only in the rarest 78s to The Beatles 78s from the Philippines and India (i.e. see The Beatles at 78 RPM website)---All The Tamla-Dyna Best, Mark Matlock/Andromeda International Records androintl@earthlink.net

LaVern Baker And The Gliders - Jim Dandy / Tra La La
My dearest LaVern, would we have ever thought I would be speaking to you in cyberspace? How I loved meeting you in the late 90s at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel/Cinegrill and having a chance to talk to you and take pics of you and your wonderful son. I still have the autographed 45s you made for me on Jim Dandy and Tiny Tim, along with the 2 of your Atlantic 78 rpms I had of the same title, one I gave to you when you told me that your collection had burned up in a fire. And Miss LaVern, what I never got to tell you was that German WEA Atlantic Lp of "The Phil Spector- Produced Sessions" you also autographed was later given to both Phil and Ruth Brown at a later date also at the Cinegrill---don't you know both refused to autograph it as you graciously did!!! How I would have loved to talk to you more about the Atlantic days, as well as how you became the head and booking agent of the nightclub in the Philippines. Needless to say, your rendition of Dinah Washington's "What A Difference A Day Makes" literally stopped your show, everyone---including me---was simply spellbound when you did that one. Why didn't I sneak in a portable tape recorder to capture that moment? Love you always, LaVern, still spinning those autographed 33, 45 and 78 rpm records you made for me---Mark Matlock/Andromeda International Records androintl@earthlink.net
