Ramones @ The Roundhouse		I was 17 back then, working for a cat called Stewart Joseph (Rough Trade Promotions, Mightyworth Ltd, Generation X). We were doing UK promotions for The Saints and got them on the bill thru the gig promoter John Curd at Straight Enterprises. The Ramones and Talking Heads were on Sire, who released The Saints' EMI output in the US, but Sire hadn't yet picked up The Saints and we wanted to showcase them at The Roundhouse for Seymour Stein (President of Sire) and his wife Linda (The Ramones' manager). All the UK Saints gigs were beyond awesome, but I particularly remember this one as Ed Kuepper, the Saints' guitarist, actually played such a hot note on his Gibson SG that his Marshall 100W amp literally caught fire inside and started belching smoke! Probably the best gig I've ever seen too.
