Have been collecting records since the 1960's, worked for EMI from around April 1972 - March 1980, went to the Thames Television record library sale in Teddington and purchased many promotional singles and also got to know some promotion folk at EMI House 20 Manchester Square.
My copy has the lettering on both sides of labels Recording first published 1963 under the matrix no. BPG 62193 A & B sides. The record inner sleeve is poly lined and on one side of the sleeve gives instructions on handling and playing! There is no (P)1963 can anyone confirm if this is a first pressing please?
I have this LP, which i believe could be a promo copy!
There is no actual Arista picture label on the record, just a white label with a massive figure no 1 on the
A side and an equally a large figure 2 on the B side! It has the usual LP pic sleeve and 12 tracks in total on the album.
I would be interested to know any of any further info on this record please.
Shame Terry Wogan's signature theme tune is only an edited stereo version, I'd love to have the unedited stereo version, despite looking here there and everywhere, would anyone know of an issue that I'm not aware of?
I fail to see how this 2 track 12" single can be classified as a maxi single? Surely a maxi single has either 3 or 4 tracks, similar to what we had in the UK which were known as extended players (EP's)
This in my honest opinion is one of the best Disco Rock singles I have ever heard, it never fails to get people dancing and coming in at around 6m 10s is totally outstanding!
