"Winter" is the first and only single release of the German music group Unheilig from their EP "Große Freiheit - Winter Edition". Many people know the song also under the name "Winterland". This is the original name of the single, at the video premiere the song was still called "Winterland" and also on the website the song was promoted under this name. A few weeks later, the single was sold only under the name "Winter".
The reason for this was a legal dispute with the band Winterland, which had registered this artificial word as a trademark with the patent office since 1998.
Also the original cover art of the Unheilig CD (a single leafless tree in a winter landscape), strongly reminded of a cover of the band Winterland. After an exchange of letters between the lawyers of both bands, Unheilig's record company signed a cease-and-desist declaration. The title was renamed and the cover art changed.
