The stage was lowered to knee height at the time, which suited Dr John's performance. I didn't really know what to expect and casually decided to see him, got 2nd row, and my mind blown! Easily one of the best gigs I ever saw, and I have been to thousands. Mesmerising, entrancing and dizzying! I danced along with the backing singers - and they with me. The Dr distributed grisgris and incantations along with a great visual and musical performance. An enormous legend who played with the top players of a generation. Superb showman and pianist. R.I.P. |
