 I worked at a publishers (non music) for a short while and discovered that it was common practice to include false entries and deliberate mistakes in order to catch out rivals who cribbed/stole the information.

 I believe that Music Collector started life as Spiral Scratch but unfortunately met a demise at the hands of Record Collector after MC was accused of using RC's lists of collectible records. I could be wrong however,,,,,
