One recurring problem with the way the Books world is indexed is if there is a variant in a book title, it generally is not indexed as an edition of the original (prime) title. For example, there are editions of William S. Burroughs' Naked Lunch titled The Naked Lunch. Just today I'm indexing (it isn't up yet as I write it but will be soon) an edition of the Star Trek novel "Spock, Messiah!" but there is a UK edition - already indexed - that omits both pieces of punctuation in the title. Of course this is mentioned in the notes, but it means the UK edition of Spock Messiah [sic] won't be listed as an edition of Spock, Messiah!

45 Worlds' Vinyl and CD worlds, along with 45Cat, provide an "add linked release" feature that allows different versions of something to be indexed together or at least "q.v.'d". I think that would be a great addition to book indexing as it would allow a book with a slight variant title to be linked to its original publication. Consider as another example Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, which is of course known in North America as Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. Or cases where a book receives a completely different title in a later edition, maybe due to a TV or film adaptation. Anyway, just an idea!
